Does a quiet space for reflection, reading, journaling and/or creating sound like something you would enjoy? Day Retreats are held about every 6-8 weeks. Small groups may gather for study or prayer. A Quiet Place, on the next page, describes the opportunities to utilize the space at NessDoor for the sake of your own soul.
Please visit NessDoor.

NessDoor is six! Incredible how time flies. Covid interrupted the rhythm of NessDoor retreats, however new use options aside from Day Retreats are forming. NessDoor will now also be available for Day use for a modest fee. A quiet space for reflection, reading, journaling and/or creating is now available! Contact me via [email protected] or call if you have my number for more info and scheduling. The next page in the menu bar is A Quiet Place with more description.
NESSDOOR IS THREE! July 10, 2019
Today is our biggest Blessing, Finley Claire's, 1st Birthday!!!! Appropriately we are celebrating the expansion of our family and the sustaining presence of NessDoor! There have been many day retreats over the years, and more to come, Retreats for groups away from NessDoor continue to evolve. Life is good.
Below are a few of the results of time at NessDoor and other venues. The Church youth group came one night and we made Anglican Prayer Beads. I was the guest presenter at Christ Church Anglican during Lent. A series of prayer time continues and book studies are on the horizon. Some of the day retreats topics have been: Unmasking- Living as the One and Only YOU; Advent Quiet Day- A Soul Day just for you; Epiphany- Follow Your Star, See the Wonder; Lent- Rhythm, God's Beat for you; Approaching Ascension- Forgiveness, and one of my favorites--- Today: Rest. Retreats run around 4 hours: greeting, intro, journal time with prompt questions, lunch, and creative time!
At a recent retreat at Laity Lodge (when I was a participant, not artist) Paula Huston was the speaker. Her book A Season of Mystery: 10 Spiritual Practices for Embracing a Happier Second Half of Life is the book I'm reading now. It's good to want to read rich books again after finishing 30+ for the Soul Care Institute, which I finished November 2017! Two years is long enough to steep. Time to be creative and have more retreats!

NessDoor continues to see regular activity with day retreats filled with journal time, lunch and creative expression. Several meetings and groups, such as the church youth group, a friend’s Bible Study, have come as well as individuals for Spiritual Direction.
Above are a few photos of meaningful time spent at NessDoor.
Recent day retreats: “Wonderfully Wired: Bending to His Will,” “Unmasking the one and only You,” Advent Quiet Day, “Following Your Star..”
May 9, 2018
To date there have 5 day retreats. Each has revolved around a liturgical season of the church: Advent, Ordinary Time, Epiphany, Lent, and Easter. Each has a reflection component, journaling, and reflection with a creative outlet available with the open studio at NessDoor. There is a nominal charge for materials, but that shouldn't deflect a desire to come. Light meals and drinks, M&M's and fellowship are all included!
Below are photos from some of these days, as well as the Order of the Day that guides the process:
Epiphany Visioning, group project Julie Cross, Lenten Lament : taking the pain to the cross, Redemption in Resurrection: acrylic pour, more acrylic pour: layering colors of need to allow God’s Redemption...Resurrection: curing for 3 days, Painting with Paper, Advent: creating mandala expression.

We purchased the cottage next door...
for an art studio and meeting place for day retreats and studies, quiet days and prayer times. Even though we have the farm which will have an art barn and lodging, this is available now, while we prepare for retirement and retreat living.
Its a daily respite where I can be still, create and have others share in the gift of a sacred place. I am blessed to offer this blessing, this I know.
